Indifference and neglect often do much more damage than outright dislike.“Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” the fifth movie in the series, begins, as most of the others have, with a spot of unpleasantness at the Dursleys, and ends with Harry facing down Lord Voldemort. There was just that minor drawback of him having Lord Voldemort sticking out of the back of his head! Things we lose have a way of coming back to us in the end, if not always in the way we expect. You care so much you feel as though you will bleed to death with the pain of it. Just because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon doesn’t mean we all have. “You told her He Who Must Not Be Named is back?” “Is it true that you shouted at Professor Umbridge?” You can actually visualize them growing up into a mature person from a kid, fighting for their beliefs and forming a single force (team). Rowling has given life to each of the characters in this book.
I know so many revelations satiates the questions that have been populating your thoughts, but more than that I loved how J.K. I haven’t read an over 800 pages book that is so interesting throughout. This is precisely because of the writing. My favorite book so far will still be Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, but I loved this one the second most. I would not like to give away spoilers, but boy, you are on an emotional roller coaster, be warned. One by one, things keep hitting you and many of them also trigger emotions. This is a book where there are no pit stops for you to relax. So many secrets are revealed in this book that you would keep turning the pages if you have enough time. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix also gifts you a character that you would enter your list to top 3 fictional characters you hate – Professor Umbridge. Luna Lovegood is truly an intriguing addition and would love to read her further. Another character that has improved a lot in terms of courage is Neville Longbottom. By the time you reach the end, you would be in awe of her bravery and reluctance to be left behind all the action that matters. For me, Ginny Weasley is the one having a great transformation. It seems legitimate, given the circumstances. Rowling has given enough space to each of the characters to grow up into something far different from what they used to be. Under the tensed circumstances, no one is infallible.
The adults are no more the perfect protectors they were in the previous books. The book develops on the fact that nobody is completely a good human there are shades of grey that exist in every person be it Harry’s father – James Potter.
It grows to such an extent that you can’t tag it only as a children’s fantasy anymore. Order of the Phoenix not only begins on a darker note, it keeps growing further into that dimension. It merely prepares you for what’s coming next. If you have read my review of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (or read the book), you know that things grew much dark as that book finished. I love how the characters have grown up in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. However, the dark forces are growing stronger every day.
